Thievery Corporation is Rob Garza and Eric Hilton from Washington, DC. The Temple of I & I is their eighth studio album release and features such regular performers as Lou Lou Ghelichkhani, Shana Halligan, Ras Puma, Notch, Mr. Lif and Racquel Jones.

The Temple of I & I is a decent record as Garza and Hilton manage to sustain a "Richest Man in Babylon" mood throughout. It retains most of what we have come to expect from the music, yet it's just not on the same level of greatness as anything they've done since 2004's The Cosmic Game. The music is a mix of trip hop, dub, and reggae with a variety of guest vocalists. While there are some splendid singles to be heard, much of the record is pretty low key and familiar. Some of the most memorable tracks include "Letter To The Editor (feat. Racquel Jones)," "Ghetto Matrix (feat. Mr. Lif)," "The Temple of I & I," and "Road Block (feat. Racquel Jones)." I know that it's wholly unfair to judge an album on what it could have been, but The Temple of I & I would have benefited significantly without some of the more lukewarm reggae moments and a shorter tracklist.
