Moonshiner's Ball 2017 raises the bar for the 4th year in a row. The festival will feature headliners Con Brio, Lydia Loveless, and The Marcus King Band, along with a full bill of national and local musical acts which are set to fill the Appalachian Holler with a variety of genres including blues, funk, singer-songwriter, Americana, and a large dose of bluegrass.
Singer-songwriter and cellist Ben Sollee and outlaw country troubadour Justin Wells lead a strong wave of artist announcements completing the lineup for the 4th Annual Moonshiner's Ball. Additional artists include Quiet Hollers, May Erlewine, Driftwood Gypsy, HuDost, Matt Fassas Trip, Solid Rock'It Boosters, The Baja Yetis, Restless Leg String Band, DeBraun Thomas Trio, Trucker Hat Coalition and Kevin Dalton & the Tuesday Blooms.
Moonshiner's Ball is far from your standard mega-corp produced music festival. With smaller festivals becoming more popular, it's fun to find the hidden gems such as this one. It's a unique festival hosted and ran by musicians from the Blind Corn Liquor Pickers band. Travis Young BCLP's Banjo player is the main organizer for the festival and works hard all year to bring in artists that may not yet have a big name, but have to be original and extremely talented musicians. Travis is relentless in his search and I'm sure you will come away with a new favorite artist every year.
Family friendly, awesome music, bonfires, fire shows, kids activities, people always ready to help, Moonshiner's Ball provides an intimate vibe where lots of new friendships will be made. Mark your calendar. Oh, and of course for those who like a little Moonshine, after all, it is a Moonshiner's Ball.
