MIAMI, FL (September 22, 2016)
- Nearly two weeks away, Miami-based III Points Music, Art & Technology Festival continues to push the envelope, announcing yet another avant-garde activation, taking place at this year’s highly anticipated event. From October 7th to 9th
, creative director and experimental fashion innovator, Aileen Quintana, will unveil her latest otherworldly art installation, Sunset@Noon
Inspired by Vaporwave, a culture characterized by the nostalgic fascination of retro aesthetics, video games, technology, and advertising, Sunset@Noon
will submerge festival-goers into a state of alternate dimensions. The installation will take over the entirety of a 6,000 square foot warehouse space at MANA, morphing into a multi-sensory experience of art, music and fashion, each expressed in vintage, internet-based aesthetics.
At the pinnacle of the room will be an interactive fashion installation that mirrors the appearance of a real-life shopping mall, complete with department stores, kiosks and abstractions, by local fashion brands ISHINE365, Style Mafia, and Algae. The multi-sensory mall installation fuses audio and visual dimension into reality, through a virtual shopping experience, echoed by experimental performances courtesy of local musicians Virgo, Uchi, Otto von Schirach, Rat Bastard and more.
Attendees will stroll through time and space, as the vibration of psychedelic music pulsates, and one-dimensional barriers slowly fade away. New forms of visual art will be showcased such as a transformation chamber “Make it Up Salon,” where guests can peer through acrylic doors and catch a glimpse of behind the scenes hair and makeup artists transforming the performers. III Points’ artists will enter the chamber throughout the course of the festival, providing more of a high fashion look for their performance.
Aileen Quintana will also explore the realms of performance art, such as an experimental marbelizing act titled Inter-dimensional baths and more. Additional elements of the Sunset@Noon
experience include a VHS store by Veronica Gessa, Dale Zine lounge, and art from Strangeways, GG artwork, Jay Shogo, Natasha Tomchin, and an artist collective from Post Vision along with a hang-glider painted by the esteemed artist, Brian Butler.
III Points will be the first unveiling of Sunset@Noon
, which also marks the launch of the festival’s first non-profit organization, which will provide scholarships for students in audio and visual programs. General admission tickets are available for purchase at iiipoints.com
, with single-day passes priced at $70 and 3-day passes at $155. To stay up-to-date on news and happenings, follow III Points and Haiiileen on social media.
ABOUT III POINTS
: Born in 2013, III Points Music, Art & Technology Festival was built as a platform to shed light on Miami’s talented local acts, vendors, artists, thinkers, dreamers, doers and idea people. As the artist community was thriving, the perception of Miami remained stereotypical to South Beach bottles and confetti culture, and III Points was created as a home and voice for the "other" Miami. III Points curates a lineup of international performances paired with the best of Miami's local music scene, resulting in a three-day living installation featuring cutting-edge musical acts, visual art, and innovative technology. III Points makes its home in Wynwood, the rising star of Miami’s modern, artistic urban development; the community identity is woven throughout the fabric of the festival. Over the three days, III Points takes over the town with lectures, panels, showcases, demos, BBQs, tech-talks, gallery shows, street installations, and a fully immersive 6-stage festival experience.
