Swaying Wires is a band from Turku, Finland. Members include Tina Karkinen (Vocals, acoustic guitar) Sami Lehtonen (Electric guitar) Nicklas Hagen (Bass) and Jussi Virkkumaa (Drums). I Left A House Burning is their second studio release.

I actually had a pretty hard time trying to classify the band's musical style. The songs on I Left A House Burning are very engaging and intimate, reminding me of a cross between First Aid Kit, Neko Case and Mazzy Star. Karkinen sustains an atmosphere of soothing elegance in a setting that flows with elements of folk rock and Americana. This record is another good example of what can be done once you tear down the boundaries of what defines certain genres. And much like Neko Case herself, Karkinen could easily fit in snuggly with an indie rock or power pop band. The Swaying Wires paint a stimulating, witty portrait of love, despair, hope and regret. And not to mention, flying around on the wings from a dead bird. I Left A House Burning is a pleasant and thoroughly rewarding experience that benefits immensely from great songwriting, Karkinen's beautiful vocals and its lush instrumentation. Standouts include "Dead Bird," "Tuesday's Bells," "Nowhere," "Suddenly," and "Fear."
