Kendrick Lamar is a hip-hop artist from Compton, California. DAMN is his fourth studio album release and features collaborations with such artists as 9th Wonder, James Blake, BadBadNotGood, DJ Dahi, Rihanna, U2, and Zacari. As of this writing, every song on DAMN is currently charting on Billboard's Hot 100.

Kendrick Lamar still manages to surprise and impress. To be honest, I didn't think his new record DAMN was all that good the first time I heard it. It was sometime during the second go round that things began to gel with me. I was hooked. Do I think it is the best hip-hop album released so far this year? Yes, by a landslide. Nothing comes close. Damn may even be my new favorite Kendrick Lamar album. There were only a couple of songs I couldn't get into but who knows, by the time this review is published I may even end up diggin' those tracks too. Some of my favorite singles include "Yah," "Feel," "Love" (featuring Zacari), "XXX" (featuring U2), "Fear" and "God."  In a time when so many shitty hip-hop records are amassing so much praise, this one is truly legit. Kendrick Lamar's DAMN is a vital hip-hop album that's fun, exciting and full of dynamic energy. Highly recommended.
