Rap Cabaret Artist Boyfriend teams up with iconic B-52's vocalist and co-founder Cindy Wilson on “Fun Sh*t”, the first single off Boyfriend’s forthcoming EP (release date April 28, 2017).
Co-produced by Boyfriend and producer Pablo Dylan (A$AP Rocky, D.R.A.M., OG Maco), the song is an early taste of what’s to come from the duo who have been collaborating on new Boyfriend material for the past 10 months.
“It’s very honest” says Boyfriend of her work with Dylan. “’Fun Sh*t’ voices a real frustration - I’m tired of having to excuse myself from the party.” On her decision to invite Cindy to collaborate she states, “if it weren’t for artists like [Her], I wouldn’t be here...at 9 years old I performed to ‘Love Shack’ at my dance recital; then, after playing the first song I recorded as Boyfriend for my dad, he said ‘I get it. You’re like the B-52s!’ It feels a bit symbolic.” Cindy adds, “I was honored to be working with Boyfriend... it was very exciting to be doing a different style (of music.)"
