Poliça is a band from Minneapolis, Minnesota founded by Ryan Olson (production) and Channy Leaneagh (vocals, synth). United Crushers is their third studio release.

Poliça's previous releases relied heavily on the use of auto-tune. Thankfully it's not as prevalent on United Crushers, but it is still noticeable on some tracks. For the most part, Leaneagh is allowed way more freedom to showcase her vocal prowess. This flexibility adds additional muscle to the instrumentation, offering the songs more volume and depth. There's less distraction, and you'll immediately notice the dynamics in the music when it doesn't feel watered down, leaving more room for exploration. It isn't a perfect record as there were a couple of tracks that I just couldn't get into but in the end, the new release proves that Poliça isn't just a one-trick pony. Why it was ever decided to add nonstop effects to Leaneagh's beautiful voice is beyond me. But whether you like the use of auto-tune or not, it's been dialed down to a minimal on Crushers. And it's a much better album because of it. It's sophisticated synth pop that's sexy, progressive and captivating. Some of the most memorable tracks include "Lime Habit,"Someway," Melting Block,"lately," and "Baby Sucks."
